Historical Significance of BALI PASS TREK–

According to Mahabharata epic, it is believed that Pandavas tried to ascend to Heaven from the Swargarohini peak which is literally called pathway to Heaven. Bali is believed to have journeyed through the Himalayan mountains and defeated a demon called Odari. To pay homage to the brave ruler, the place is known as Bali Pass.

How to reach BALI PASS TREK?

By Rail-

Several trains are available from Delhi to Dehradun. On reaching Dehradun, it takes 10 hours long drive to Sankri (210kms)

By Road-

A 9-10 hours drive from Delhi to Dehradun to Sankri

By air-

Board a flight from New Delhi to Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) and drive to Sankri from Dehradun to Sankri (210kms)

By bus-

buses are available from Delhi to Dehradun on regular basis.

How safe is the Bali Pass trek-

A person must be physically and mentally healthy to opt for the trek. But it can’t be done unless you try.

Intermingled with ascents and descents, slippery surface and difficult passageways, Bali pass trek is the hardest to conquer, and require a well-trained guide/instructor to guide through the entire trail

Bali Pass Weather/Temperature-

During Summers, the temperatures during the day time can vary from 19degrees Celsius to even 26 degrees Celsius and temperatures during the night time fall from 0 to 7 degrees Celsius. During autumn , the temperatures vary from 0 degrees to sub-zero temperatures at higher altitudes.

The trek is not advised for the trekkers if they are not trained 2-3 months prior to the beginning of the trek, because BALI PASS TREK is at 16,250 ft and needs proper preparatory exercises to be done.
