All About The Bararsar Lake
Bararsar Lake
The local people here believe that prayers at the Baraadsar lake never go unanswered, which is why the local people worship this lake. You will climb to the lake through villages and thick forests. The trek will offer you breathtaking views of the greater Himalayas such as Swaragrohini, Kalanag, and Banderpunch. Baraadsar lake is often referred to as the lake of dreams. The trek to Baraadsar Lake is a moderate one, which won’t put much pressure on your mind or body. The Baraadsar holy lake is in between two beguiling valleys of Rupin and Supin, which are very close to the border of Himachal Pradesh. The sight around the lake is splendid. You will get to see high ridges surrounding the lake. The trail is exhilarating and will escort you through alluring meadows and high ridges. You have to cross a ridge that separates Rupin and Supin and after that, the land becomes barren with huge rocks all around. This trek is very less known as it is surrounded by virgin peaks and has difficult access and also very little information. On your trek, you will notice the uniqueness of the Kinnauri architecture through the open-air schools and the beautiful houses. You will have to pass through the Baraadsar meadow which is at 14,435 ft before reaching the lake. Standing at the lesser-known Baraadsar Lake you will experience a spectacular panorama of the peaks like the Swaragarohini, Bandarpoonch, Kalanag towards the East and the peaks of Kinnaur and Supin towards the West. The lake generally stays frozen throughout the year as it is so high in altitude. The best time for this trek is during the month of June and September. You will find the weather pretty favorable during these months, also the snow-covered on the surface will be very moderate, hence it will not make the trek hard to traverse.
